RegioPanter and 26Ev — single-deck electric multiple units for regional and long-distance service up to 230 km/h

RegioPanter is a platform of single-deck electric multiple units for regional and suburban service, on which long-distance trains running at over 200 km/h have been developed. A trainset has from two to seven cars, with 1435 or 1520 mm track. The first customer of the long-distance version is Arriva, with the series 26Ev for the Czech Republic.

Description

The head cars always stand at the ends of the train, and the intermediate cars are placed between them. The drive concept allows motor bogies under both head and intermediate cars, so the total power of the train is defined by the customer's requirements and operating conditions. In this way the motor bogies are distributed along the train and the required tractive effort is obtained without changing the basic car design. The manufacturer does not publish rated powers and speeds of individual series, and the parameters are agreed for the project.

The trains are built for 1435 and 1520 mm track, the body width depends on the track gauge, and the gauge is G1 according to EN 15273-2 or GOST 9238. The height of the entrance doors is selected for the platforms of a specific network, so the train has low-floor boarding and access for passengers in wheelchairs. A car has one or two pairs of doors. RegioPanter regional trains operate in the Czech Republic, Estonia, Latvia and Germany.

The version for interregional and long-distance service has from three to seven cars and from 200 to 600 seats. It is configured for different supply systems, dual-system 3 kV DC and 25 kV AC or the German 15 kV AC. The bogies are rated for speeds of up to 230 km/h. The trains are equipped with the ATO automatic train operation system, ETCS and a remote diagnostics system. ATO drives the train to the timetable with regard to energy consumption, while the driver stays in the cab and takes control in abnormal situations. The first customer of the platform, Arriva, receives trains of the series 26Ev for the Czech Republic.

The traction electrical equipment with IGBT converters and asynchronous motors, the TCMS control system and the onboard communication are developed by the group itself. The group carries out testing and homologation in an accredited test laboratory. Welding of bodies and components is certified to EN 15085-2, and the management system complies with IRIS (ISO/TS 22163), ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001. The IRIS certificate was issued by DQS and covers the design, production, service and project management for rail traction vehicles and spare parts, valid until 25.02.2028. For operation, the Datarail online monitoring, predictive diagnostics and full service are offered.
