Description
The manufacturer has wide experience in supplying current collectors, above all single-arm pantographs. They are compact, light, easy to maintain and low-noise. The current collector is the first link of the traction drive of an electric multiple unit, and the manufacturer is one of the few that build the whole set of traction electrical equipment, from the pantograph to the traction gearbox. Pantographs are built for various APM systems, as well as current collectors with pneumatic raising to foreign technical requirements.
For high-speed lines the pantograph is fitted with covers on the lower frame and on the joints of the upper and lower frames, and with a collector head that has a stable raising characteristic. This substantially reduces the frequency of loss of contact with the contact wire and aerodynamic noise. For urban lines the single-arm design has fewer parts than the diamond type, so it is lighter, more compact and easier to maintain.
The pantograph for high-speed lines has spring raising and pneumatic lowering. The overhead line is 25 or 20 kV AC, the current is up to 1000 A, the static contact force is 54 N, the working stroke is 310–810 mm and the mass is about 180 kg. The pantograph for urban lines has spring raising with pneumatic lowering or pneumatic raising with spring lowering. It works from 1500, 750 or 600 V DC or 20/25 kV AC, with a current up to 1600 A (DC), a contact force of 49–64 N, a working stroke of 100–1600 mm and a mass of about 130 kg.
The version for foreign markets is rated for 25 kV AC or 1500 V DC, up to 1600 A, a contact force of 70 N, a working stroke of 175–2000 mm and a mass of about 180 kg. The current collector for APM has a spring-loaded side collector for a rigid three-phase contact line of 600 V AC. The current is up to 400 A, the contact force is 59 N, the stroke is 19–70 mm and the mass is about 30 kg.
The wide range of working height and the option of pneumatic raising simplify adaptation to the overhead line and to the requirements of other countries. The design with fewer parts reduces the maintenance effort in service. The overhead line voltage across the versions varies from 600 V DC to 25 kV AC.

Questions and answers
What overhead line voltages are these pantographs built for?
For high-speed lines the network is 25 or 20 kV AC, for urban lines 1500, 750 or 600 V DC or 20/25 kV AC. The APM version works with a rigid three-phase line of 600 V AC.
What current and static contact force do the high-speed and urban pantographs have?
The high-speed pantograph is rated for a current up to 1000 A and a force of 54 N. The urban version withstands up to 1600 A (DC) at a contact force of 49–64 N.
What are the mass and working stroke of the APM version?
The mass is about 30 kg, the working stroke is 19–70 mm, the contact force is 59 N and the current is up to 400 A.
