Description
Type S is designed as a ball valve with a split body, so it can be removed from the installation point and serviced at any time. The two- or three-piece modular design is justified on sections with increased wear and for media that require frequent maintenance. The valve is installed above ground as shut-off valve in equipment piping. It works with both gases and liquids: natural and sour gas, oil including sulphurous oil, hot and cold water.
The ball is trunnion-mounted, so the torque is lower and the valve is suitable for high pressure. The stem has a double seal with a fire-safe packing and anti-blowout protection. The design is antistatic, allows the passage of cleaning pigs and meets the requirements for fugitive emissions. Three sealing systems are provided for the closure, PMSS (primary metal and secondary soft), SO (soft) and MM (metal to metal). The seats are made with a single or double piston effect.
The design pressure reaches CLASS 1500, and diameters start from 2″ and extend to 36″. The standard temperature range is from −29 to +120 °C, the low-temperature version works from −60 °C, the high-temperature version up to +200 °C. For the whole series the catalogue gives limits from −60 to +160 °C, and in special versions higher. Connections are flanged, weld-end or with welded flanges. The catalogue gives face-to-face lengths for RF and RTJ flanges and weld-end nipples by pressure class, for example for class 150 from 178 mm (2″) for RF.
The design is engineered, manufactured and tested according to DIN ISO 9001, PED, AD2000-HP0 and W0, DVGW, ÖVGW, SVGW, API 6D and ASME B16.34. Tightness, function and fire resistance are verified according to DIN EN 14141, VdTÜV bulletin Armatur 100, ISO 14313 / API 6D, EN 12266-1/-2, DIN 30690-1, DIN 3230 T5 and EN 12516-1/-2. The valve is suitable for systems with SIL requirements. The manufacturer selects the actuators for it, so they do not need to be specified separately.
