Description
Type AH ball valves for gas transmission are made at a Polish plant that specialises in valves for the oil and gas industry and was acquired by the manufacturer in 2008. The valves are designed for natural gas, propane, butane and their mixtures. They have been supplied to pipelines and facilities of the largest operators in Central and Eastern Europe: PGNiG and Gaz-System (Poland), SSP (Slovakia), MOL (Hungary).
The production range for gas transmission covers sizes from DN15 to DN1000 at a working pressure of PS 63 or 100 bar. In valves with the double piston effect (DPE), both seals take part in the internal sealing, and if one is damaged, the other maintains tightness. The DBB system makes it possible to bleed the pressure from the cavity between the ball and the body through a drain plug and to check closure tightness without shutting down the pipeline. The metal contact between ball and body provides antistatic protection to EN 1983 and API 6D.
The ball seal is made in three variants. PMSS (Primary Metal Secondary Soft) combines a primary metal seal with a secondary hard seal, was developed specifically for gas media, and is used in both floating-ball and trunnion valves. The metal-to-metal seal is intended for severe service, the working surfaces of the seat and ball are coated with tungsten carbide, and the variant is used only in trunnion-mounted ball valves. The third variant is soft seats made of PTFE or PTFE+C.
The stem is sealed with a PTFE+C thrust washer and rings. At temperatures up to 150 °C these are O-rings or PTFE rings, above 150 °C PTFE is used, and in the fire-safe version a graphite ring is added. The additional lubrication system makes it possible to restore the tightness of worn seals by injecting a high-viscosity sealant. For valves of DN150 and larger at PN63–100 it is standard, and for DN100 PN63–100 and DN200 PN16–40 it is an option on request. Fire resistance to EN ISO 10497 is available on request.
The valves are supplied in above-ground and underground versions, with handwheel, planetary gearbox, electric, pneumatic, electro-hydraulic or pneumatic-hydraulic actuator, position indicators, stem extensions, bypass and protective coatings. Certification includes PED module H, EN 14141 (TÜV Rheinland), Fire Safe (FTZÚ Ostrava) and SIL 2. Production operates under the EN ISO 9001 quality management system, and every valve undergoes full inspection and pressure testing. In the applications section the source also mentions sizes up to DN1400, so the upper size limit is confirmed on request.

Questions and answers
What sizes and pressure do the AH valves for transmission pipelines cover?
Sizes from DN15 to DN1000 at a working pressure of PS 63 or 100 bar. The source also mentions values up to DN1400 in the applications section, so the upper limit is confirmed on request.
Which ball seal variants are offered?
Three variants: PMSS (primary metal and secondary hard seal), metal-to-metal with tungsten carbide for trunnion-mounted balls only, and soft seats made of PTFE or PTFE+C. Valves with the double piston effect (DPE) have two seals that take part in sealing.
Which certificates and tests do these valves have?
PED 2014/68/EU module H, EN 14141 (TÜV Rheinland), Fire Safe (FTZÚ Ostrava) and SIL 2. Fire resistance to EN ISO 10497 is offered on request.
