Description

Type AH ball valves in the Split-Body version have a trunnion-mounted ball and a split (screwed) steel body. They are made for high and ultra-high pressures at a plant in Poland. According to operating manual DTR-TB.05, the series covers sizes from DN25 to DN300 and two pressure groups. The first group covers PN16, 25, 40, 63, 100 (classes CL150, 300, 600) for DN50–300, the second PN160, 250, 320, 400 (classes CL900, 1500, 2500) for DN25–300. The valves are intended for media of groups 1 and 2 under Directive 2014/68/EU. Depending on the sealing system, they work with gaseous and/or liquid media.

The ball is mounted on rotating trunnions perpendicular to the flow and is sealed by two seats made of PTFE, PTFE+C, POM, PEEK+C or by NBR, HNBR, FKM sealing rings. The seats are located in movable holders that are spring-loaded and sealed against the body. In the closed position the ball is pressed against the inlet seat by the pressure of the medium and the spring force. The design is insensitive to thermal expansion of parts and protected against impermissible pressure rise in the cavity, because the valves have thermal and volumetric relief. Ball rotation is limited to 90° by stops or by the end stops of the actuator, and the top flange is designed for part-turn actuators to EN ISO 5211.

The working temperature range is from −40 to +100 °C. The allowable pressure is not reduced across the whole range and equals 63 bar for PN63, 100 bar for PN100, 103 bar for CL600, 155 bar for CL900 and more for higher classes. The connection is flanged or weld-end.

The functions include antistatic protection to EN 1983 and API 6D, a fire-safe design, blow-out-proof stem, double block and bleed (DBB) and an emergency additional lubrication system. The supply includes a base plate, lifting lugs and a grease injection system. External surfaces are protected with a paint coating about 100 µm thick (underground version), and some parts with galvanic coatings. Internal parts are made of stainless or acid-resistant steel or are galvanically protected. Every valve undergoes factory testing and is marked.

The high pressure classes make the series suitable for compressor stations, injection and withdrawal lines of underground gas storage, wellhead piping and gas treatment plants.
