Plate Check Valves — non-slam plate check valves for pulsating gas flows, NPS ½–16″, Class 150–2500
Non-slam plate check valves designed for pulsating and turbulent gas flow, where conventional swing and dual-plate valves wear out quickly. Sizes from NPS ½ to 16 inches (DN10–DN400), pressure classes from Class 150 to Class 2500 (PN10–PN400). They are installed on the suction and discharge of reciprocating compressors.

Description
Check valves protect equipment from damage and prevent the risks associated with reverse flow. Plate valves have worked since the 1950s in difficult conditions, with pulsating or turbulent flow, that is, exactly where conventional swing and dual-plate valves wear out quickly. A typical case is the suction and discharge of reciprocating compressors, where the gas flow changes rapidly and periodically.
The design is highly dynamic, with small moving masses, low lift and a spring-loaded plate. The valve closes quickly without slamming, protects expensive equipment from reverse flow and withstands countless opening-closing cycles without harm to service life. The valves practically do not wear and need minimal preventive maintenance. They can be installed in any position and orientation, which makes design simpler and pipe routing freer. The design can be tailored precisely to the customer's requirements, and the manufacturer's service centers are located around the world.
The body is available in wafer, lug or bell type. The working medium is gas of any composition, with constant, turbulent or pulsating flow. Sizes from NPS ½ to 16 inches (DN10–DN400), pressure classes from Class 150 to Class 2500 (PN10–PN400). Design codes: ASME B16.34, API 594, API 6D, PED 2014/68/EU. Flange dimensions and sealing faces are selected to ASME B16.5, DIN EN 1092-1 or the customer's specification, and face-to-face lengths to ASME B16.10, API 594, API 6D, EN or the customer's specification.
Materials are selected according to ASME, API, EN, NACE and customer requirements. Certification includes CE marking under PED 2014/68/EU. The Valve Selection Handbook directly recommends compressor check valves of this type where rapidly changing gas flow occurs.
Applications include the piping of reciprocating compressors at compressor stations of main gas pipelines and underground gas storage facilities, gas treatment plants, CNG stations, and hydrogen and process compressor units.
