Description

G-Stream is a series of reciprocating globe control valves. The manufacturer's control valve division was created in 2017 at a new site in Castellanza. The series covers the full range of linear control valves and is supplied in a large number of configurations with options and special trims for a specific task. This number of variants makes it possible to select a valve for exact process conditions.

Bodies are straight, angle, Y-pattern and three-way, cast or forged. Three-way valves work for mixing or splitting flow and use most parts of the standard valve, which shortens the spare parts list. The angle version is interchangeable with the standard one in everything but the body, and may have an extended seat (venturi) for erosion protection. The trim is unbalanced or pressure balanced, with a contoured plug or caged.

Special trims: Alfa (a cage for cavitating conditions that raises the FL factor), Beta (a micro-drilled cage for noise reduction) and Gamma (a multi-stage cascade trim for high differential pressures and for dirty, cavitating and erosive fluids). Alfa and Beta are made of hardened materials, including a double cage. A micro-flow trim, a bellows seal and a steam jacket are also available.

Range from 1/2 to 36 inches, ANSI classes 150–4500, PN 6–420, API 5k–20k. Materials include carbon, low-temperature and low-alloy steel, austenitic stainless steel, duplex, super duplex and nickel alloys. The bonnet is standard, extended, cryogenic or pressure seal, and seats are metal or soft. Connections are ANSI/DIN flanges (RF/RTJ), API 6A flanges, butt-weld and socket-weld ends, and hub. Actuators are pneumatic, electric, hydraulic and electro-hydraulic, and a manual gearbox is available.

The series has passed fugitive emission tests to ISO 15848-1 and fire tests to API 607, and has a SIL assessment to IEC 61508 (PFD up to the SIL 3 range). Capacity and noise level are calculated to IEC 60534 with CFD and FEM modeling. In the gas industry G-Stream controls pressure and flow at gas distribution stations, gas treatment plants and compressor stations, and in the cryogenic version it works at LNG facilities.

Questions and answers

What sizes and pressure classes does the G-Stream series cover?

Sizes from 1/2 to 36 inches, ANSI classes 150–4500, PN 6–420 and API 5k–20k.

Which trim should be chosen for cavitation, noise and high differential pressures?

The Alfa cage for cavitating conditions and the Beta micro-drilled cage for noise reduction. For high differential pressures and for dirty, cavitating and erosive fluids, the Gamma multi-stage cascade trim.

What tests and assessments does the series have?

Fugitive emission tests to ISO 15848-1, fire tests to API 607 and a SIL assessment to IEC 61508 with PFD up to the SIL 3 range. Capacity is calculated to IEC 60534.
