Description
The control valve division was created in 2004 to extend the manufacturer's range with flow control solutions. It designs and supplies a full set of control valves. These are linear globe, in-line and angle valves, as well as rotary control ball valves and butterfly valves.
The main focus is the oil and gas industry, power generation and the chemical industry. Fertiliser and urea production, oxygen systems, steam turbine bypass and desuperheating units are singled out separately. In the gas industry such valves control pressure and flow at gas distribution stations, at compressor stations (anti-surge control), in underground gas storage and at gas treatment plants.
A set of standard products exists for each valve type. For especially severe conditions or on special customer request, individual engineering solutions with no limits on size or pressure class are developed. The design takes into account the mechanical requirements for strength and pressure retention, as well as the hydrodynamics needed for the best performance and a long service life. Anti-cavitation designs and low-noise configurations complete the programme, since cavitation destroys the internal parts of a valve at pressure drops, and noise limits the use of valves near people and equipment.
Depending on conditions, carbon steel, alloy steels for low and high temperatures, stainless steel, duplex, super duplex, Inconel, nickel aluminium bronze (NAB) and titanium are used. Production is carried out at the plants in Rivanzano (Pavia) and Due Carrare (Padua). On request, standard products can be made at the group's plant in China.
The valves are supplied with actuators and control systems of the manufacturer's own production. The characteristics of individual series are not published in open materials, so sizes, pressure classes and materials are specified for the project. Selection requires data on the medium, pressure drop, flow rate and temperature, as well as the noise level requirements. Linear globe valves are used for precise flow control, and angle valves where the flow changes direction between inlet and outlet. Rotary ball and butterfly valves in control versions take up less space at large diameters. The valves are ordered together with an actuator and positioner or separately.

Questions and answers
Which types of control valves are in the programme?
Linear globe, in-line and angle valves, as well as rotary control ball valves and butterfly valves.
Are there versions for cavitation and noise?
Yes, the programme is complemented by anti-cavitation designs and low-noise configurations. For especially severe conditions, individual solutions are developed with no limits on size or pressure class.
For which gas industry facilities are these valves suitable?
They control pressure and flow at gas distribution stations, at compressor stations (anti-surge control), in underground gas storage and at gas treatment plants.
