Description

Axial Flow axial control valves are built on the company's many years of experience in axial shut-off and check valves. They are intended for special applications that call for high flow capacity, accurate control, tight shutoff and compact size at the same time. For the heaviest liquid and gas duties, a range of pressure-balanced trims is offered.

The body is compact, in two parts, with a streamlined internal flow path that gives high flow capacity with much lower pressure losses and minimal turbulence. The balanced plunger provides smooth, stable control and fast stroking, which matters in critical processes. Bearings are self-lubricating. Trims are tailored to the task: anti-cavitation, low-noise, multi-cage, multi-stage labyrinth and tungsten carbide. A wide control range and bidirectional sealing are possible. Seats are metal or soft.

The size range is 2 to 72 inches, with pressure up to ANSI 4500, PN 420 and API 20k. Materials cover carbon, low-temperature and low-alloy steels, austenitic stainless steels, duplex and super duplex steels, and nickel alloys. Connections are ANSI/DIN flanges (RF/RTJ), API 6A flanges and hub. Actuators are pneumatic, electric, hydraulic or electro-hydraulic. Fugitive emission testing has been carried out to ISO 15848-1, fire testing to API 607, and SIL assessment to IEC 61508 (PFD up to the SIL 3 range).

Cryogenic control valves for the LNG chain, from liquefaction to regasification, form a separate line. They control flow, pressure and temperature at very low temperatures and large pressure drops, are made in linear and rotary versions, and are often fitted with multi-stage or anti-cavitation trims. In the company's general range, cryogenic valves (gate, globe, check valves and ball valves) are rated for temperatures down to −196 °C, sizes up to 36 inches and classes up to ANSI 2500. The company has its own test benches for cryogenic testing down to −196 °C.

In the gas industry, axial control valves are installed at gas distribution stations and pressure-reducing points of trunk gas pipelines, at compressor stations, at LNG terminals and in withdrawal and injection control systems of underground gas storage. Cryogenic versions work on liquefaction and regasification lines, the rest at trunk points of the gas transmission system.
