SO-54SR-3xx, SO-52v21-AUT, APZ-20 — overhead line disconnector controllers, fault indicators and sectionalizers
SO-54SR-3xx and SO-52v21-AUT controllers automate disconnectors on overhead lines and in MV distribution points, performing the functions of a fault indicator or a sectionalizer. The group also includes APZ-20, an analyzer and indicator of short-circuit current flow. The devices work in FDIR schemes on 15–30 kV overhead lines and in MV secondary substations and switching stations.

Description
SO-54SR-301 serves outdoor disconnectors on trunk lines and branches of MV networks, while SO-54SR-321 and other versions of the series are used for indoor disconnectors. The controller works as a short-circuit indicator or a sectionalizer and at the same time measures, controls, maintains communication and records events and faults. It consists of a central processor unit, an analog measurement unit, a discrete input and output unit and a power supply, and is mounted on a 35 mm DIN rail.
The central processor has 2 RS-232 channels, Ethernet 100Base-TX, 2 RS-485 channels or 1 RS-422 channel, a 1-Wire channel, a service RS-232 and a built-in GPRS/UMTS/LTE modem for two SIM cards, so telecontrol is possible in the networks of two operators. The measurement unit accepts 3 voltages through dividers, VTs or voltage sensors depending on the version, as well as 4 currents, that is, 3 phase currents and 3I0 in the Holmgreen connection through current transformers. The discrete signal unit has 16 inputs and 4 control outputs. An external TETRA terminal is connected through a serial port or Ethernet, and the controller supports parallel communication with SCADA over TETRA and GPRS/UMTS/LTE-APN.
SO-52v21-AUT serves indoor and outdoor MV disconnectors and combines measurement, control, telecontrol, the functions of a fault indicator, a sectionalizer and a multichannel fault recorder. In a configuration with mAI-32-31 modules, one controller implements up to three fault indicators or sectionalizers and serves up to ten switching devices. The integrated version with the mCA-01-01 module, that is, a central processor with a 3G modem and analog inputs, is designed for one indicator. It supports Smart Grid and FDIR functions, continuously detects intermittent earth faults as a sign of growing partial discharges, and phase currents can also be measured with Rogowski coils. Data protection is implemented according to PN-EN 62351.
APZ-20 works as an independent indicator of short-circuit currents in MV networks together with FDIR modules. It is installed on poles without disconnectors, for example on line taps, or is added to points with a radio-controlled disconnector that has no short-circuit current detection of its own. The set consists of the SP-1 measuring sensor and an SO-54SR-301 controller in a supervision cabinet with guaranteed supply. The event log has a timestamp with a resolution of 1 ms, and the TEST and KAS buttons on the front panel start a check and reset the indication.
Typical facilities: sectionalizing points of 15–30 kV overhead lines, MV secondary substations and switching stations, schemes of automatic isolation of a faulted section.
