Description
The PCS-9700 Renewable Energy SCADA is built on the same principles as the PCS-9700 substation system. It collects and processes data in real time and performs sequential control of circuit breakers, disconnectors, OLTC and groups of compensating devices with synchro-check and interlocking. Communication with dispatch centers works independently of the local HMI. Time is synchronized by GPS and IRIG-B, and third-party devices are connected through IEC 61850 protocol converters. The system collects protection operation information and waveforms, and the logic is programmed according to IEC 61131.
The PCS-9726A protects, monitors and controls a block-type containerized pad-mount substation at a wind or solar plant in grids with any neutral grounding mode. The device has instantaneous and time-delayed overcurrent protections for phase, zero-sequence and negative-sequence currents, overvoltage and undervoltage protections and zero-sequence voltage protection. It receives the signals of the transformer's process protections, performs metering and controls the circuit breaker. Its memory holds 64 operation reports, 64 waveforms and 1024 events. The built-in communication manager and ring switch collect data from inverters, meters and other IEDs and pass it to the SCADA or RTU, so fewer separate devices are needed in the substation.
The PCS-9700F forecasts the output of the plant for the coming period. The source data comes from the numerical weather prediction NWP, from monitoring of the plant and the weather station (solar radiation, temperature, wind speed) and from statistics, and the calculation combines a physical model with artificial neural networks. The complex has two forecast servers, a main and a standby one, a weather data processing server and an engineer's web station. It is separated from the Internet by a reverse isolator, that is a unidirectional gateway, and from the substation network by a firewall.
The PCS-9700R automatically regulates generation (AGC) by frequency or power flows and voltage (AVC) through the plant's compensating devices according to the dispatcher's setpoints. Data on reserves and interlocks reaches the dispatch center in real time. The forecasting and regulation software runs on the SOPHIC platform, and the logic is configured by visual programming. The SCADA, forecasting and regulation work together, and the PCS-9726A in each substation passes to them the data of inverters, meters and other IEDs.
