Description

The S25 regulator works with pre-filtered non-corrosive gases. It is certified to the PED directive and complies with the European standard EN 334. Active regulators are produced in a fail close or fail open version.

Inlet pressure reaches 50 bar, the outlet pressure is maintained in the range from 0.5 to 40 bar. The regulation accuracy class is up to AC 1, the lock-up pressure class up to SG 5. Operating temperature is from −20 to +60 °C. Sizes DN25, DN40, DN50 and DN80 have flow coefficients Cg of 500, 1050, 2100 and 4200 respectively. The body is made of cast steel, the pilot, the actuator body and the cover of steel, the diaphragm of rubberized fabric. The pilot senses the downstream pressure and controls the loading of the actuator diaphragm, so the outlet value stays within the set accuracy class when the gas flow changes. The outlet pressure is set on the pilot. The size for a gas transmission system or a power plant is chosen by the required Cg and the inlet pressure at the station.

A feature of the series is the trivalent version X, where the main regulator, the monitor and the slam-shut valve (SSV) are assembled in one module. The regulator line becomes more compact, and the top entry to the internal parts allows the unit to be serviced without removing the body from the pipeline. There is also version M with a built-in monitor regulator and version B with a built-in SSV that trips on both overpressure and underpressure (OPSO/UPSO).

In the manufacturer application table the S25 is classed as high pressure, up to 100 bar, transmission. Typical installation places are gas regulating and metering stations, pressure reduction stations of distribution networks and inlets of large industrial consumers. The manufacturer, founded in 1949 in Forbach (France), has made this line the reference for natural gas regulation and metering since 2012. Production is located in France, Italy and India. Besides individual products, the group builds pressure reduction stations and cabinets and provides maintenance and emergency repair services.

Questions and answers

What inlet and outlet pressure is the S25 regulator designed for?

Inlet pressure up to 50 bar, outlet pressure from 0.5 to 40 bar. The regulation accuracy class is up to AC 1, the lock-up pressure class up to SG 5.

What sizes and flow capacities are available?

Sizes DN25, DN40, DN50 and DN80 have Cg coefficients of 500, 1050, 2100 and 4200 respectively.

What does the trivalent version X mean?

The main regulator, the monitor and the slam-shut valve work in one module. This reduces the dimensions of the regulator line, and the top entry simplifies maintenance.
