Description
Besides its standard devices, the manufacturer designs, builds and tests complete gas systems. These include gas trains, metering and safety systems, regulating stations, booster stations, air lines and control cabinets for single-burner and multi-burner installations of industrial furnaces, dryers, boilers, protective-gas systems and gas engines. The systems are supplied compact and ready for connection, with support from design through commissioning.
The gas systems are built to industrial standards ISO 13577, EN 746-2, NFPA 85, NFPA 86, NFPA 87, CSA B149.3, AS 3814 and national gas supply codes, for example DVGW G 491. Gas pressure regulating stations reduce the outlet pressure to the level set for the system and provide a protected supply to gas-consuming installations. As a certified specialist company under DVGW G 493-1, the manufacturer designs and builds gas supply systems to DVGW G 491 and, for industrial thermal processing plants, to ISO 13577-2. Gas booster stations bring the inlet pressure to a precisely defined level where the network cannot deliver the required pressure, with high availability.
GasValveUnit (GVU) is a fully assembled gas system for the safe control of gas supply to marine gas and dual-fuel engines. It consists of a gas-tight enclosure, a gas regulating unit and a separate marine-grade control cabinet. The enclosure is designed as a Class 1 pressure vessel and tested at an internal pressure of 15 bar, so the GVU can be installed directly in the engine room without a separate space. The gas section contains FRx pressure regulators suitable for LNG and hydrogen, EPV electro-pneumatic valves for inlet pressure up to 16 bar, filters that retain 99.5 % of particles larger than 2 µm, and a flow meter, including a Coriolis type. The design complies with ATEX requirements.
Every GVU undergoes factory testing and complies with the IGF Code and the rules of classification societies. The manufacturer also provides service support, maintenance and modernisation. Gas trains are supplied with a parts list, documentation and CAD drawings, and their function and tightness are checked with a 2.1 factory certificate to EN 10204. Welded parts are strength-tested with a 3.1 certificate to EN 10204, sand-blasted and coated with RAL 1021 enamel.

Questions and answers
Which standards apply to gas trains?
They are built to ISO 13577, EN 746-2, NFPA 85, NFPA 86, NFPA 87, CSA B149.3, AS 3814 and national gas supply codes, for example DVGW G 491.
Can the GasValveUnit be installed in the engine room?
Yes. The enclosure is designed as a Class 1 pressure vessel and tested at an internal pressure of 15 bar, so a separate space is not required. The unit complies with the IGF Code and ATEX requirements.
Which components make up the gas section of the GasValveUnit?
FRx pressure regulators for LNG and hydrogen, EPV electro-pneumatic valves for inlet pressure up to 16 bar, filters retaining 99.5 % of particles larger than 2 µm, and a flow meter, including a Coriolis type.
