Description
HBC 975 is designed for large diameter lines in high and medium pressure systems. It protects large gas distribution stations and pressure reduction stations where the capacity of a single line requires sizes from DN 100 to DN 300. The valve is used in trunk gas transmission, at compressor and booster stations, in underground storage, at liquefaction and regasification plants, at LNG terminals, power plants, in heavy industry and at district stations.
The SSV trips in less than 1 second. The set point is defined by a pressostatic device that monitors the pressure downstream of the valve. The valve can also be closed manually with a button on the pressure switch, or remotely by a signal from the control system. Reopening (resetting) is done by hand only, after the cause of tripping has been found and eliminated. The top entry design allows the obturator and seat to be serviced without removing the body from the pipeline, which is especially valuable for large diameters.
The design pressure is up to 10.2 MPa (102 bar) and the maximum inlet pressure is 10 MPa (100 bar). The over pressure (OPSO) and under pressure (UPSO) set points are adjustable from 0.02 to 9 MPa (0.2–90 bar), and the AG accuracy class is up to 2.5 depending on operating conditions. Nominal sizes are DN 100, 150, 200, 250 and 300 (4″–12″). Connections are ANSI 150, 300 and 600 flanges per ASME B16.5 and PN 16 per EN 1092. The face-to-face length complies with EN 334 and EN 14382, so the valve is installed in the line together with regulators of the same length. The ambient and gas temperature is from −20 to +60 °C.
The body for ANSI classes 300 and 600 is made of ASTM A352 LCC cast steel, and for class 150 and PN 16 of ASTM A216 WCB. The stem is AISI 416, the obturator is ASTM A350 LF2 steel with nickel plating, the seat is carbon steel with vulcanized rubber, and the seals are NBR. The valve is designed to EN 14382 and certified to PED 2014/68/EU. Bubble-tight sealing is better than class VIII per ANSI/FCI 70-3. Other materials, functional features and extended temperature ranges are supplied on request.
A built-in bypass, a test button, a limit switch and remote tripping are available. The valve is compatible with biomethane and is made in versions for hydrogen blends or 100 % hydrogen, and a hydrogen compatibility declaration has been issued for HBC 975.
