Description
Both meters use multipath chordal ultrasonic technology. Pairs of transducers measure the transit time of the ultrasonic signal with and against the flow along several chords of the cross-section, and the gas velocity and volumetric flow are calculated from the time difference. Several paths provide redundancy, high accuracy and real-time diagnostics, and the absence of moving parts reduces wear and maintenance needs. The meters support unidirectional and bidirectional measurement, which is required for reverse gas flow points and underground gas storage.
FioSonic is the main model for high flows. The flow is from 9 to 43 698 m³/h, the pressure up to 102 bar, and the sizes from DN 80 (3″) to DN 750 (30″). Connections are PN 16 flanges per EN 1092-1 and ANSI 150/300/600 per ASME B16.5 with RF or RTJ facing. The accuracy class is 0.5 per OIML R137-1 or class 1 per MID 2014/32/EU and OIML R137-1, the measuring range is up to 1:100, and the repeatability is better than 0.1 %. The ambient and gas temperature is from −25 to +55 °C. The meter is used at gas distribution stations, compressor stations, underground storage, and liquefaction, regasification and gas treatment plants.
The body is made of ASTM A350 LF2 steel, the electronics enclosure of epoxy-coated aluminum alloy or 316 stainless steel, and the transducers of titanium. BCW (burst continuous wave) technology and low-voltage sensors are used. FioSonic Mini is intended for custody transfer in gas distribution networks. The sizes are DN 80 and DN 100, the pressure up to 20 bar (abs.), the flanges class 150 or PN 16, the body 6082 aluminum, class 1 with air calibration, a range of up to 1:67, and a gas temperature from −30 to +75 °C. The kit may include a TI-TWIN flow conditioner made of 316 steel.
Both meters have IP66/NEMA 4X protection, the intrinsically safe ATEX Ex II 1 G Ex ia IIC T4 Ga version, and IECEx and CQPSUS (Class 1 Div.1) certificates. They comply with AGA Report No. 9 and ISO 17089-1, are certified to PED, MID, ATEX and OIML R137, and are suitable for hydrogen blends up to 30 %.
