Description

CGT-02 gas turbine meters are intended for measuring gas volume at pressure from atmospheric up to 11 MPa and temperature from −25 to +70 °C, and in the CGT-02 HT version up to +120 °C. This is the manufacturer's main device for commercial and process metering in gas transmission and distribution systems, at cross-border metering stations, at large industrial consumers (chemical plants, steelworks, industrial agglomerations), and also in boiler houses and at small enterprises.

The design gives high accuracy with minimal pressure losses and compact piping: for commercial metering stations an inlet straight section of only 2×DN is enough according to EN 12261 (annex B) and recommendation OIML R32-89 (annex A). The meter is resistant to flow disturbances. The error is better than the EN 12261 requirements. In the lower range Qmin–Qt it is less than ±2 %, in the main range Qt–Qmax less than ±1 %. The measuring range is 1:20 in the standard version, 1:30 for DN 80 and above, and 1:50 for DN 100 and above at an operating pressure of 2.0 MPa and higher.

The range covers sizes from G65 to G6500 (Qmax up to 10 000 m³/h) and nominal diameters DN 50–400, others on request. Flanged connections are made for PN10, PN16, PN20 (ANSI 150), PN25, PN40, PN50 (ANSI 300), PN64, PN100 and PN110 (ANSI 600), which corresponds to a maximum operating pressure from 1.0 to 11 MPa.

The rotating counter mechanism makes reading easier in any installation position. The mechanism has two reed and two inductive low-frequency LF pulse sensors and two high-frequency HF sensors, and the housing has four more HF sensors. A mechanical output for a CWSL encoder is possible. In this way metering can be run at the supplier and the consumer at the same time, and CMK-03 volume correctors or automation systems can be connected. Two pressure tappings, sockets for gas temperature sensors, installation of the oil pump at the front or rear and a vertical version are provided.

Besides natural gas, CGT-02 is used for technical gases, including air, propane-butane, acetylene, hydrogen, and also cleaned and dried biogas. The HT version is used in mine degassing plants. Explosion protection is Ex II 2G Ex ia IIB T5 Gb, to order Ex ia IIC T5 Gb. The meters comply with the MID, PED, ATEX and EMC directives. The type approval was issued by the German PTB.
