CMB-03 and CTS-04 — GSM/GPRS telemetry modules for gas correctors and recorders

The CMB-03 and CTS-04 are GSM/GPRS telemetry modules for gas volume correctors and recorders with intrinsically safe circuits, IP65, from −25 to +55 °C. The CMB-03 is mounted outside the hazardous area, and the battery-powered CTS-04 for zone 2 connects up to three devices.

Description

The CMB-03 and CTS-04 modules give remote access to volume correctors, recorders and other devices of gas metering stations over GSM/GPRS networks. Both have intrinsically safe circuits for connecting to devices in hazardous zone 1.

The CMB-03 is a universal compact module with a built-in GSM 850/900/1800/1900 MHz modem that works in CSD and GPRS modes. After the connection is established, the module is transparent to the reading protocols of the connected devices. The intrinsically safe circuits (an RS-GAZ2 port and four discrete inputs IN1–IN4, marking II (2)G [Ex ia Gb] IIB) make it possible to connect the module directly to devices in zone 1, while the module itself is mounted outside it. During a communication session the RS-GAZ2 port powers the device being read. The U version is designed for the CMK-02 and CMK-01 correctors and the CRI-02 recorders, the P version for the MacBAT II, and the T version for the MacBAT 2COM and MacBAT/R. Variants with index G have an external FME antenna socket.

The power modules for the CMB-03 are: alkaline ZA (six D cells, about 100 W·h), lithium ZL (about 300 W·h), mains ZE 230 V with a UPS and consumption of up to 4 W, and solar-wind ZS. Programmable activity windows, daily, weekly and yearly, with exceptions, extend battery life many times over. Configuration, reading of events, diagnostics and firmware updates are performed locally via USB or remotely, and the ConfigMB-03 program is supplied. The degree of protection is IP65, the module dimensions are 170×120×55 mm, the weight of the set is about 1.7 kg, and the operating temperature is from −25 to +55 °C.

The CTS-04 is a battery-powered data transmitter in an explosion-protected case II 3(1)G Ex nA [ia Ga] IIB T4 Gc for zone 2. Its intrinsically safe RS-GAZ2 circuits and two discrete inputs can work with devices of zone 1. It connects up to three devices with independent profiles, transmits data over GPRS via TCP, UDP or SMTP/FTP, synchronizes time with an NTP server, performs an extraordinary reading or sends an SMS on a discrete input signal, provides direct access to the corrector in TCP server mode and updates the firmware from an FTP server. The supply is from one to three lithium C batteries, the degree of protection is IP65, and the dimensions are 160×75×55 mm. Eight LEDs (GSM, GPRS, RS-GAZ2, OPTO-GAZ, Rx, Tx, Alarm, BAT) show the status, and commissioning does not require opening the case. The OPTO-GAZ interface is available for local setup.
