Description
CGR-FX are rotary positive displacement gas meters with a dual-housing design. The outer housing takes the installation loads from the pipeline, as well as the stresses caused by the difference in pressure and temperature between the measured gas and the environment, so the measuring unit is completely relieved. This gives a very wide measuring range without harm to safety, extends the service life of the device and reduces pressure losses. In metrological and technical parameters and connection dimensions CGR-FX corresponds to the CGR-01 rotary meters and can replace them without rebuilding the metering station.
The meters are recommended where gas flow varies greatly and metering must stay accurate. Typical installation places are gas metering and gas regulating and metering stations of low, medium and elevated medium pressure, metering stations of gas distribution systems and the points where they connect to trunk networks, and control gas metering. Besides natural gas, the meters are used for technical gases, including air, propane-butane, acetylene and hydrogen. The pressure and temperature of the medium and the environment act on the outer housing and not on the measuring elements, so the measuring range is very wide and pressure losses are small.
The range covers sizes from G10 to G400 with nominal diameters DN 40, 50, 65, 80 and 100. The maximum operating pressure under the MID type approval is 1.6 MPa. The housings are made for PN16 and PN20 (ANSI 150) connections, and cast iron ones also for PN25. The gas and ambient temperature is from −25 to +70 °C. The installation position is horizontal or vertical, depending on the version.
The counter mechanism has protection degree IP66/IP67 and is supplied with low- and high-frequency pulse sensors for connecting CMK-03 volume correctors, loggers and the manufacturer's data transmission systems. The explosion-protected version is II 2G Ex ia IIB T5 Gb or Ex ia IIC T5 Gb, certificate KDB 04ATEX034 issued by the Central Mining Institute (Poland). The meters comply with the directives 2014/32/EU (MID), 2014/34/EU (ATEX) and 2014/68/EU (PED, UDT certificate). The type approval for CGR rotary meters was issued by the German PTB. The manufacturer advises on selecting the size, operation and joint work with computers and telemetry, and also carries out verification and service.
