Description
CGR-04 M are mechanical positive displacement rotary gas meters of the low-pulsation type. A single-chamber cast aluminium housing and a rigid measuring unit with rotors of new geometry give accurate measurement over a wide range, lower flow pulsations and a lower noise level. The measuring system is adapted for metering mixtures of natural gas and hydrogen, which is important for networks preparing for hydrogen blending.
The range includes sizes from G10 to G250 for nominal diameters from DN 40 to DN 80. The measured flow is from 0.25 to 400 m³/h, the maximum measuring range is up to 1:400, and the accuracy class is 1 according to OIML R137. The operating pressure under the MID approval is 1.6 MPa, so the meters suit medium-pressure metering stations at gas regulator stations, at industrial and municipal consumers and in boiler houses. The gas and ambient temperature is from −25 to +70 °C. The installation position is horizontal or vertical. Accuracy class 1 according to OIML R137 and the range up to 1:400 suit consumers with uneven gas offtake, and the position is chosen to fit the place of installation.
The meter has a new nine-digit counter mechanism. It can be fitted with low-frequency (LF) and high-frequency (HF) pulse sensors, an AFK control contact, a flow direction sensor and an LF-BC sensor with reverse flow handling, which excludes false accumulation of volume during reversal. The pulse outputs are used to connect CMK-03 volume correctors, CRS pulse loggers and the manufacturer's telemetry systems. The protection degree is IP66/67, and the explosion group of gases is IIC.
To order, the meter is supplied with an internal bypass that opens automatically, with signalling. If the rotors jam, the gas goes around the measuring chamber, the consumer is not left without gas, and the event is recorded. The devices meet the requirements of the MID, ATEX, PED and EMC directives.
Applications: commercial and process metering of natural gas at gas regulator stations and cabinet regulators, metering stations of industrial enterprises, municipal and power facilities, and metering on network sections with hydrogen-containing mixtures.

Questions and answers
What sizes and flow does CGR-04 M have?
Sizes from G10 to G250 for DN 40–80. The measured flow is from 0.25 to 400 m³/h.
Is the meter suitable for hydrogen mixtures?
Yes, the measuring system is adapted for metering mixtures of natural gas and hydrogen. The explosion group of gases is IIC.
What happens if the rotors jam?
To order, the meter is supplied with an internal bypass that opens automatically. The gas goes around the measuring chamber, and the alarm records the event.
