Description

CPT-04 E is a gas turbine flow meter from the manufacturer's new line of devices, whose modular design combines classical mechanics with electronics. The gas volume is measured by a precision mechanical unit with a turbine wheel, and the rotation is read by contactless electronic sensors. The electronics of the counter give high accuracy and resolution in measuring instantaneous flow from the internal HF signal, comparable to earlier designs that needed a separate high-frequency sensor. The design allows the flow meter to be fitted with one of the available communication interface options.

Volume, flow and measurement archive data are shown directly on a nine-digit display, and the main functions are called up with two buttons. In the standard configuration the flow meter has LF and HF pulse outputs and configurable OUT outputs. They can be assigned as an additional LF output, a magnetic field exposure alarm or AFK control contact, an hourly consumption limit (Gas Guard) and an F-DIR flow direction indication. The galvanically isolated interface slot accepts a 4–20 mA current loop, digital M-Bus, RS-485 or a NAMUR encoder interface. The Modbus, Gaz-Modem and M-Bus reading protocols make integration into SCADA and BMS easier. There is an optical port according to EN 62056-21 and M12 connectors.

The device records data and alarms, determines flow direction and monitors hourly consumption. The size range starts at DN 25 (1″) and reaches DN 150, and sizes G16–G1000 have Qmax from 25 to 1600 m³/h. The measuring range is 1:10, 1:20 or 1:30 depending on the size. The error in the range Qt–Qmax is ±1.5 % (±1 % in the improved version), and in the range Qmin–Qt ±3 % (±2 %). The maximum operating pressure is 2 MPa, the operating temperature is from −25 to +55 °C, and the installation position is horizontal or vertical.

Explosion protection is II 2G Ex ib [ia Ga] IIB T3 Gb, protection degree IP66/67, electromagnetic environment class E2. The built-in battery lasts up to 10 years. The flow meter is intended for process and balance metering of gas at industrial sites, in boiler houses and at gas regulator stations.
