SO-5403, USP-103 — programmable measuring transducers of network parameters

The SO-5403 is a programmable measuring transducer from the manufacturer for monitoring network parameters at substations, power plants and CHP plants. It measures about 60 parameters and transmits them to a higher-level system over galvanically isolated RS-232, RS-485 or optical lines. The USP-103 belongs to the same group of transducers.

Description

The transducer is intended for transmission network substations, power plants, CHP plants, distribution companies and industrial power engineering. It measures three currents and three phase voltages, the additional voltage U0, frequency, line-to-line voltages, the phase angle, active, reactive and apparent power and energy, both consumed and delivered, as well as peak power. All network parameters needed for measurement, monitoring and control are transmitted to the higher-level system.

The voltage inputs are designed for 57.7/100 V or optionally 220/380 V, the current inputs for 5 A or 1 A, and the rated frequency is 50 Hz. The measurement error is 0.2% for voltage and current, 0.01 Hz for frequency, and 0.5% for power, energy and power factor. Current and voltage are measured in the range of 0–120% of the rated value. The transducer works in a three-phase three-wire unbalanced network directly or through measuring transformers, the measurement cycle is 0.1, 1 or 10 s, and measurements carry time stamps.

Communication with the higher-level system runs over any protocol, including MODBUS and DNP 3.0, through galvanically isolated RS-232, RS-485 or optical links, and also by modem or radio. Measurements can be displayed locally on a reading terminal. Optional analog output modules serve local analog instruments or the analog inputs of telemechanics, and any measured quantity is assigned to each output. The output signals are ±5 mA, 0–5 mA, 4–20 mA, ±20 mA, ±10 V or 0–10 V, with a resolution of 12 bits. Digital inputs and outputs perform control and signaling, and their parameters are selected to suit the application requirements.

The polycarbonate case measures 157×72×120 mm, the degree of protection is IP40, and it is fixed on a DIN rail under PN-EN 50022. The supply is 220 V DC/AC ±20%, optionally 24 or 48 V, and the own consumption is less than 7 VA. The insulation withstands 2.5 kV at 50 Hz for 1 min. The SO-54 engineering program is used for testing, local reading and recording of measurements, parameterization of inputs, calibration and setup of analog outputs, and the POMTECH program shows the measurements of a group of transducers online. Typical tasks include telemetering in 110 kV and MV substation bays, replacement of analog transducers during telemechanics modernization, and metering of power flows at power plants and industrial substations.
