NSA611 / PDM / CDM online monitoring systems for transformers and high-voltage cables (dissolved gases in oil, core grounding current, partial discharges)
The online monitoring systems track the condition of power transformers of 35 kV and above and high-voltage cable lines. The range includes NSA611 and NSA611C dissolved gas analysers, a core grounding current monitoring device, PDM partial discharge monitoring systems and CDM-1000 shield current monitoring. With them, equipment is moved from scheduled maintenance to condition-based maintenance.

Description
The floor-standing NSA611 works on gas chromatography (DGA). The instrument determines in real time the content of all characteristic gases in transformer oil, namely hydrogen, carbon monoxide and dioxide, methane, ethane, acetylene and ethylene, and moisture. The gas composition is used to distinguish overheating from discharges, assess insulation ageing and detect defects at an early stage. The analyser is installed on power and furnace transformers, reactors and other oil-filled equipment of 35 kV and above, and fills the gaps between laboratory chromatographic analyses.
Degassing in the NSA611 uses the dynamic headspace method with oil circulation and vacuum, and the gas extraction ratio is high. The measurement cycle is 2 h, repeatability is ±5%, and the service life is over 6 years. One carrier gas cylinder is enough for at least 400 analyses. The modular design simplifies assembly, commissioning and maintenance. NSA611C measures gases by tunable diode laser absorption spectroscopy (TDLAS), based on selective absorption of radiation at different wavelengths. The cycle is 1 h, degassing is by vacuum under negative pressure, and the service life is over 10 years. The instrument is compact, wall or floor mounted, and its measuring module also works with equipment of other manufacturers. Communication is via optical Ethernet, copper Ethernet or RS-485.
The core grounding current monitoring device measures current in the grounding lead with a split-core current transformer. It is installed on the tank or in the intelligent component cabinet, and signals are output through dry contacts, 4–20 mA, Modbus and IEC 61850.
For high-voltage cable lines, PDM-1000 is intended, an online partial discharge monitoring system. Detection units are installed on every joint, signal separation, PD recognition and alarming are performed by edge computing, and data go to a cloud platform with web access and no limit on the number of points. PDM-1 measures PD synchronously during cable tests at elevated voltage through wired, wireless and optical channels. PDP-SMART is a portable PD diagnostic instrument with an automatic one-button mode and an expert module for analysis and location. CDM-1000 continuously monitors currents in the metal shields and grounding of cables, and induced voltages if required, assesses the condition of sheaths and gives alarms. The manufacturer also supplies cable systems with distributed fibre-optic temperature monitoring.
