TBDG / ZF53-72.5 compact combined outdoor switchgear 40.5–126 kV (HGIS)
The TBDG and ZF53-72.5 series are compact modular outdoor HGIS switchgear for 40.5, 72.5 and 126 kV. The bay apparatus are placed in a common gas-filled enclosure and connected to the substation busbars by air bushings. The main applications are substations of solar and wind power plants, package substations and mobile substations.

Description
Compared with a switchyard of separate apparatus, the combined apparatus takes much less space and requires less construction work. The busbars remain air-insulated, so much less SF6 is used than in full GIS. The modules combine flexibly for different schemes, the insulation is complete, no maintenance is needed and life-cycle cost is low. The enclosure has double sealing and carefully designed protection for outdoor installation.
The TBDG-126 is built with a three-phase switchgear cabinet in an aluminium alloy housing. Each phase includes a circuit breaker, a three-position disconnector-earthing switch, current transformers and bushings. The main circuit is connected through the bushings to the open busbars of the substation. Rated current 2500 A, breaking and short-time withstand current 40 kA for 4 s, peak withstand current 100 kA. The power frequency test voltage is 230 kV to earth and the lightning impulse is 550 kV. The electrical endurance of the circuit breaker is 20 interruptions. The apparatus is installed at solar and wind power plant substations, in the networks of petrochemical and metallurgical enterprises and in municipal utilities. This design is also suitable for prefabricated and mobile substations.
The ZF53-72.5 is a three-phase unit in a single enclosure for wind power plants. It combines circuit breakers, three-position disconnector-earthing switches, fast-acting earthing switches, current transformers and bushings. The main circuit is connected to the transformer, the internal grid lines and the submarine cable inside the wind turbine. A modular scheme with one input and one, two or three outputs (1L, 2L, 3L) adapts to different requirements. Rated current 1250 or 2500 A, short-time withstand current 31.5 kA for 4 s, peak withstand current 80 kA. For offshore wind farms the apparatus is more compact than traditional GIS.
The TBDG-40.5 at a rated current of 3150 A has a breaking current of 31.5 kA, a short-time withstand of 31.5 kA for 4 s and a peak withstand current of 80 kA. It is used in the reconstruction of rural networks, in package substations and in mobile substations. All apparatus of the range have an annual gas leakage below 0.1% and a mechanical endurance of 10,000 operations. The range covers the 40.5, 72.5 and 126 kV classes and handles tasks from a rural network to an offshore wind farm.
