RM-20 / RMt-20 — medium-voltage switchgear up to 24 kV for transformer substations
RM-20 and RMt-20 are indoor medium-voltage switchgear up to 24 kV for transformer substations in industrial and general power engineering. They are installed in separate electrical rooms against a wall or, once the rear side is closed, free-standing. Enclosures and doors are made of sheet steel with anticorrosion powder coating.

Description
The RMt-20 has a single insulated busbar system of round copper rods that connect the individual apparatus. The cubicles are small, with a standard width of 690 mm and depth of 850 mm, so the switchgear suits prefabricated substations for 7.2, 12, 17.5 and 24 kV. An RMt-20 can have up to 4 cubicles with OR4 24 TU2, OR5 24 T2-A or OM-24/T/UD/160 and OMB-24/T/BD/160 load-break switches, surge arresters and transformers according to the customer's configuration. Busbar current is 350 A, protection degree IP10.
The RM-20 has an upper busbar system on insulators, a basic cubicle width of 850 mm and an unlimited number of cubicles. The line cubicle is fitted with rear-mounted load-break switches OM-24/T/UD/160 or OR4 24 TU2, and the transformer cubicle with OMB-24/T/BD/160 or OR5 24 T2A. OM-24/UD/160, OR4 24 PU2 and OR5 24 P2-A switches and the NRK indirect drive are also used. At the customer's request, MV apparatus from other manufacturers is installed. In the RM-20 the busbar current is 630 A and the protection degree is IP30.
Both types offer line, measurement, transformer and bus-section cubicles, and the RM-20 also has a surge arrester cubicle. Rated voltages are 6.3, 17.5 and 24 kV, the insulation level to earth and between poles is 125/50 kV, and across the safe isolating distance 145/60 kV. Line cubicle current is 400 A (up to 630 A in the RM-20), transformer cubicle current 120 A. Short-time withstand current is 16 kA for the RMt-20 and 12.5 kA for the RM-20 for 1 s, peak current 40/31 kA, frequency 50 Hz. Cubicle heights are 2,000 (2,250) mm and 2,200 mm.
The switchgear was tested at the Institute of Power Engineering in Warsaw as part of the STKB 20/630 substation (approval No. 475) and complies with PN-EN 60298. Declarations of conformity and a voltage test report are supplied with the delivery. RM-20 and RMt-20 cubicles are installed, among others, in concrete substations, where the MV switchgear occupies a separate compartment next to the transformer and LV switchgear compartments.
