Description
The KYN28A and KYN61 cabinets operate in 6–35 kV distribution networks. The KYN28A-12 is designed for three-phase 50 Hz networks of 3.6–12 kV with a single busbar system, including sectionalised, for rated currents of 630–5000 A and breaking currents of 20–50 kA. The KYN28A-24 is used in 24 kV networks (630–4000 A, 25–40 kA). The KYN61-40.5 at 40.5 kV has the same 630–4000 A and 25–40 kA and a floor-type withdrawable breaker truck. The KYN28A-12 cabinet is designed to IEC 62271-200, GB/T 3906, GB/T 11022 and DL/T 404 and passed full type tests at the national high-voltage apparatus testing centre.
The cabinets are fully metal-enclosed and divided into compartments, so a fault in one compartment does not spread to the others. With the doors closed the degree of protection is IP4X. A set of mechanical interlocks (the five interlocks) prevents erroneous closing or opening of the breaker, racking the truck in or out under load, closing the earthing switch on a live circuit, energising a closed earthing switch and entering a live compartment. The withdrawable elements are interchangeable and carry vacuum breakers and contactors, voltage transformers, disconnectors and fuses. The mechanical endurance of the truck and the earthing switch is at least 3000 cycles. The KYN28A-12 insulation withstands 42 kV power frequency to earth and 48 kV across the gap, and lightning impulse of 75 and 85 kV.
The new-generation vacuum circuit breakers VTB-12P (ZN63D) and VTB-40.5P (ZN85) have a modular built-in spring mechanism and withstand frequent switching and repeated short-circuit current interruptions. The VTB-12 is made for 630–5000 A and 25–50 kA, with a mechanical endurance of up to 30,000 cycles for versions up to 1250 A and 31.5 kA. The VTB-40.5 is rated 630–4000 A and 25–40 kA with an endurance of 10,000–20,000 cycles. The electric field of the main circuit is optimised, which raises the dielectric strength of the insulation.
Outdoor 12 kV pole-mounted breakers protect sections of overhead distribution networks and provide metering and control. The ZW32-12 has epoxy resin poles with a silicone coating made by the APG technology, a spring or magnetic mechanism and a disconnector. The ZW20-12 combines vacuum interrupters with SF6 insulation at zero gauge pressure, an explosion protection device and degree of protection IP67. The LW3-12 quenches the arc in SF6 and has a spring mechanism with an oil damper. Rated current 630 A, breaking current 20/25 kA, and all three units can be fitted with distribution automation controllers.
