Description
On network transformers, straight transformer sockets, angled adapters and angled bushings are installed on the MV side instead of DIN porcelain bushings. The angled bushing of size 0 is rated for 24 kV and 250 A, size 1 for 36 kV and 630 A. After installation the bushing can be rotated through 260°, and the earthed metal housing fully protects personnel against electric shock. Mounting follows DIN 42538 (flange A) on a cover up to 10 mm thick.
Two-contact and four-contact angled bushings up to 52 kV in an aluminium housing are intended for high-power transformers. They split the current between two or four cables with connectors of size 2 or 3. Inside the transformer, a plug-in connection with a rated current of up to 2200 A or a clamp connection up to 3150 A is permitted. These bushings are suitable for marine use and have passed the cold shock test to VDE 0441. A surge arrester can be fitted in place of a cable in a free position, and unused sockets are closed with blanking plugs. Small animals and birds can no longer cause a short circuit.
Angled bushings and sockets are available for switchgear, circuit breakers, motors and capacitors. Round sockets are rated up to 42 kV and 800 A, hexagonal ones for GIS and transformers up to 52 kV and 1250 A. Versions with sulphur hexafluoride gas or oil insulation and with capacitive voltage tap of 8.5 ± 1.5 or 14.5 ± 1.5 pF are available. MV-CONNEX insulators for 24 and 36 kV make it possible to equip air-insulated panels with touch-protected cable connections. An outdoor bushing for 24 kV and 800 A with a bending load of 5 kN serves as the transition from an overhead line to a metal-enclosed cable termination on pole-mounted substations. The FLINK busbar system for 24 kV and 630 A and the size 2 connection for 42 kV and 1250 A join the busbars of gas-insulated switchgear without opening the gas compartment.
The CMA motor connector of size 1 for 13.8 kV, and in the explosion-proof version for 11 kV, is installed in place of the terminal box of a high-voltage motor. It is metal-enclosed, touch-protected, has degree of protection IP66 and shortens motor start-up and replacement time. The CMS neutral connector makes it possible to swap the connection side and the star-point side.
