Spiral Vibration Damper (SVD) for ground wires and cables

The SVD spiral vibration damper for ground wires, OPGW/ADSS, guys and small-diameter conductors. It breaks up the standing wave of aeolian vibration by striking the cable, and it is effective over a wide range of frequencies.

Description

The damper is made of a spiral rod based on PVC and withstands 125 °C continuously. It is installed by hand at any point of the span, and the exact installation point is not critical. The helix is wound onto the cable, and during oscillation it strikes the cable, breaking up resonance. The Hi-Mass version has the effectiveness of two standard SVD dampers.
