Description
A spacer holds the conductors of a bundled phase at a set distance and keeps them from touching and abrading in wind and under short-circuit currents. The damping elements of the spacer suppress oscillations of the subconductors, while separate vibration dampers are placed near the clamps, where fatigue damage to the conductor is most likely. The designs cover bundles of up to 8 conductors. Triple spacer dampers were supplied for 380 kV TenneT lines, as well as products for 400 kV Wintrack lines.
