Description
The range covers all the main operations with the conductor on overhead lines. Fittings are produced for conductors of aluminium and its alloys, ACSR, copper and steel, and also for guy strands. For each cross-section there are several ranges and lengths, and to select an alternative to products of other brands the manufacturer offers a cross-reference table.
The CRS (Corrosion Resistant Splice) automatic splice is intended for aluminium-based conductors from #4 to #795. A pop-up tongue on each side shows that the conductor has reached the end, and this can be seen and felt by touch. The CRS uses a synthetic corrosion inhibitor with a wide temperature range, a stainless steel spring and an aluminium guide cup, and ventilation holes let out moisture and cool the joint. This design is intended for coastal, industrial, urban and rural conditions. The standard 7652AP splice and the corrosion-resistant 7652APCRS both hold at least 95% of the conductor's breaking strength, and both have been verified by millions of pieces in service. The 7650 series ConductRlink (automatic splice) and ConductRvise (automatic tension clamp) are intended for ACSR conductors.
For copper conductors, splices, tension and transition connectors approved for solid and stranded copper and bimetal are produced. Steel guy strands are joined with Strandlink and Strandvise products of two classes: Universal for extra high strength EHS strands and aluminium-clad strands, and All Grade for high-strength strands and for general and 'utility' class strands. Wirevise and Wirelink are intended for steel wire. Bolted connectors are installed at taps and joints with minimal tension. These are hot line clamps and stirrups, aluminium and bronze vise-type clamps, parallel, wedge and T-shaped clamps, as well as transformer tank earthing clamps.
Helical fittings include armour rods and protectors made of high-strength aluminium alloy. They increase the stiffness of the conductor at attachment points and reduce wear, bending and clamping stresses. Sets are selected for conductors from #6 to 1780 kcmil, rod lengths are 40–100″, the sets have colour coding, and the rod ends are made with a bevel, a ball or a beak tip for NVN. The programme also includes Top Tie and Side Tie ties, ARMORLOCK ties, coil ties, helical suspension clamps and tension helical clamps for distribution lines, service drops and guy strands.
