Description
High-resistivity glass blocks ion migration, and the creepage distance is longer. The metal fittings are protected from electrolytic corrosion. Since 1965, over 12 million units have been installed on HVDC lines up to 800 kV. The fog, open or Outerib profile is selected for the route pollution level.

Questions and answers
How does an HRTG insulator differ from an ordinary glass one?
High-resistivity glass blocks ion migration under DC voltage, the creepage distance is increased and the fittings are protected against electrolytic corrosion.
What voltage and load are HRTG insulators rated for?
For DC overhead lines up to ±800 kV, mechanical load 70–840 kN.
Which standard do HRTG insulators comply with?
IEC 61325, in fog, open and Outerib profiles.
