Conductor Splice and ACSR Full Tension Splice helical joints for overhead line conductors
Helical splices join and repair aluminum, aluminum-steel and copper conductors without compression. The Conductor Splice holds at least 90% of the conductor breaking load for aluminum, alloy and copper conductors, and the full-tension version for ACSR restores full strength and conductivity.
- Conductor Splice (Al, alloy, Cu)
- at least 90% of conductor breaking load
- Conductor Splice (ACSR)
- full aluminum strength plus 10% of steel core strength
- ACSR Full Tension Splice
- full breaking load and conductivity, three components
- Conductivity
- no worse than the whole conductor

Description
For ACSR conductors, the Conductor Splice gives the full strength of the aluminum part plus 10% of the steel core strength. The ACSR Full Tension Splice has three components and holds the full breaking load of the conductor. The electrical conductivity of the joint is no worse than that of the whole conductor. No press is needed, so the splices are also convenient for repairing damaged conductors. The range covers lines up to EHV, and EHV versions are supplied on request.

Questions and answers
What strength does the Conductor Splice hold?
For aluminum, alloy and copper conductors at least 90% of the breaking load. For ACSR it is the full aluminum strength plus 10% of the steel core strength.
How does the ACSR Full Tension Splice differ?
It is a three-component full-tension splice for ACSR. It restores the full breaking load and conductivity of the conductor.
Is a press needed for installation?
No, the splices are helical and installed without compression. After installation the conductivity is no worse than that of the whole conductor.
