The ARMOR-GRIP (AGS) suspension clamp has helical rods and an elastomer insert, for overhead line conductors and shield wires. At the suspension point it protects the conductor or wire from fatigue caused by vibration and from impulse flashover.

Description
The manufacturer recommends AGS instead of combining armor rods with a standard clamp. The design reduces static and dynamic stresses at the suspension point and protects the conductor from vibration and arcing. The body is stamped galvanized steel with an elastomer insert inside, and helical rods are wrapped over the conductor. Versions are available for single and double suspension, and a Support version. The clamp is used on overhead line phase conductors and on shield wires.
