KSTAR BlueGlow G3–12K covers models G3KS-D11, G5KS-D11/B21, G6KS-D11/B21 and G8K1, G10K1, G12K1. AC power is 3–12 kW at 220/230 V. These are string inverters for rooftop PV plants of private houses and small commercial sites. Depending on the model, the weight is 7.6–17.5 kg.
For KSTAR inverters, the maximum DC voltage is 550 V for G3–6KS and 600 V for G8–12K1. The MPPT range is 60–550 V, and the inverter delivers full load already from 165 V. This is useful on roofs of complex shape and with short strings. Models with two MPPTs and two string inputs accept up to 20 A on each MPPT, which makes it possible to reach a higher DC/AC ratio and lay out the panels more flexibly.
The maximum efficiency is 97.5–98.1%, and the European efficiency reaches 97.5%. The enclosure ingress protection rating is IP66. The power factor is adjustable from 0.8 lagging to 0.8 leading.
When designing strings, take into account that full load starts from 165 V and the upper MPPT limit is 550 V. For G8–12K1 the maximum DC voltage is higher, 600 V, so more panels can be included in a string. The type of surge arrester on the AC side also differs between the model groups, so it is checked against the project.
KSTAR inverter protection includes string fault monitoring, insulation resistance monitoring, short-circuit protection on the AC side and optional AFCI against arc faults. The DC-side surge arrester is type III, with type II as an option. On the AC side, G3–6KS has type III and G8–12K1 has type II. For communication there are two RS-485 ports and optional Wi-Fi, GPRS and Bluetooth. A Wi-Fi logger is included as standard, while a 4G logger is ordered separately. Current data is visible on the LCD, and remote diagnostics run from an app. The inverters are built to IEC 62109-1 and 62109-2, IEC 61000, IEC 60068, IEC 61727, IEC 62116 and IEC 61683.
