Description
BluE-G are single-phase grid-tied string inverters from KSTAR for home solar power plants. The line starts with the models BluE-G 1000S, 1500S, 2000S and 3000S-M1, followed by 3000D, 4000D, 5000D, 5000D-AU and 6000D. This covers the power range of 1–6 kW, from a small roof to a house with a large load.
For the 1–3 kW models the maximum PV input voltage is 600 V and the MPPT operating range is 60–560 V. For powerful large-format modules this window is sufficient, and a DC/AC ratio of up to 1.5 is permitted, so the array can be installed with power exceeding the inverter nominal rating. Maximum efficiency is up to 97.6 %.
The enclosure has an ingress protection rating of IP66 and a weight of under 8 kg for the 1–3 kW models, so the inverter is hung on a wall without lifting equipment and can be installed outdoors. Built-in Type III surge protection on the DC and AC sides is part of the standard version. According to KSTAR, the design is intended for outdoor operation in harsh conditions.
Operation is monitored locally and remotely. The enclosure has an LCD display, the app works over Bluetooth, and the connection to the cloud is provided by Wi-Fi, which is included as standard, or by an optional 4G module. The owner sees generation in real time, and the installer sees the state of the equipment. During design, the string lengths, the maximum open-circuit voltage at minimum temperature and the input current margin are taken into account. An array with DC/AC oversizing of up to 1.5 increases output in the morning and evening, but at peak a part of the power is limited by the inverter. A single-phase connection implies distributing the load between phases at house level, so this point is agreed with an electrician.
The inverters have been tested to the standards EN 62109-1 and EN 62109-2, IEC 62109-1, IEC 62109-2, EN 50549-1, IEC 61727, IEC 62116, IEC 60068-2-1 and IEC 61683. These cover requirements for safety, grid connection, anti-islanding protection and climatic durability. The final choice of model by power and string configuration is best agreed with a manager.
