Description

The KSTAR BluE series is built as a scalable three-phase platform of 3–25 kW. One family replaces several different units, which simplifies selection and service. It includes the models BluE 3K–12K-M1, BluE 12KTL–20KTL-M1 for a 220 V low-voltage grid and BluE-10~25KT-M6.

The DC input is rated for voltage up to 1100 V. This allows longer strings to be assembled, reduces cable costs and suits powerful large-format modules. Two MPPTs operate in the range 140–1000 V, which helps on complex roofs with different roof pitch orientations. Each MPPT has an input current of 30 A and a short-circuit current of 40 A. KSTAR states compatibility with modules of 182 and 210 formats.

Efficiency reaches 98.6 %. The enclosure ingress protection rating is IP65, and Type II surge protection is installed on the DC and AC sides. The inverter supplies reactive power as required by the grid, which is important for connection to the distribution network and for operator requirements.

Communication is organized over Wi-Fi or 4G. Data on generation and equipment status goes to a cloud service, and if necessary the installer sees the cause of a fault without a site visit. The documentation for the series includes user manuals for the different modifications and certificates of conformity to IEC 62109-1, IEC 62109-2, EN 62109-1, EN 62109-2, VDE 0126-1-1 and others. Before design, the number of strings per MPPT is determined: different roof orientations are connected to different inputs, and each input finds its own operating point independently. The 40 A short-circuit current at the input must not be exceeded at the lowest temperature, so string lengths are calculated from the maximum open-circuit voltage. For the 220 V low-grid models the connection scheme differs from that of standard three-phase units.

To select a model, determine the grid connection power, the number of strings and their length, the grid voltage and the communication requirements. The string scheme and power are best agreed with a manager, and commissioning is carried out by the installer according to the manual.
