Description
The motors are built in low-voltage and high-voltage versions. The high-voltage variant is fitted with PT100 resistance thermometers in the winding, the low-voltage one with PTC thermistors. The design complies with EN 60034 (IEC 60072): a robust solid cast rotor, a winding of thermal class 155 (F), with 180 (H) optional, vacuum impregnated. From frame size 355MX a ventilation system with internal and external cooling circuits is used.
The motors are supplied with a relubrication device with a grease quantity regulator and spacious terminal boxes. From frame size 400 an RFID transponder (iID 2000 system, 13.56 MHz) is fitted to store rating plate data, and painting is water-based. Speeds are 3000, 1500, 1000, 750, 600 and 500 rpm, lower on request. Multi-speed versions are available with a Dahlander winding (4-2, 8-4, 12-6 poles) or two separate windings, as well as three- and four-speed variants.
The independent IC416 fan cools the motor regardless of speed, which matters when running from a converter at low speed. A Dahlander winding switches the number of poles in a ratio of one to two, so one motor runs at two speeds, while separate windings give an arbitrary speed ratio. Mounting arrangements are defined by EN 60034-7.
Energy efficiency classes under IEC 60034-30 are unclassified, IE1, IE2 and IE3 (for ratings above 375 kW per the draft of edition 2.0 of the standard). Degree of protection IP55, IP56 or IP65 on request. Cooling IC411 (self-ventilated), IC416 (independent fan) or IC410, mounting arrangements IM B3, IM B35 and IM V1. Coolant temperature −20…+40 °C, −40…+60 °C optional, installation altitude up to 1000 m.
The series is used for pumps, fans, compressors, mills and conveyors in power generation, water management, metallurgy, the chemical and mining industries, including marine versions as auxiliary drives. High-voltage Transnorm motors serve as a replacement for low- and medium-power 6 kV motors, and low-voltage ones for large 0.4/0.69 kV motors.

Questions and answers
What power and frame size range does the Transnorm series have?
Shaft height is 315–450 mm, power 200–1000 kW. The motors are built in low-voltage and high-voltage versions.
What efficiency classes, degrees of protection and cooling are available?
Classes IE1, IE2 and IE3 under IEC 60034-30 or unclassified versions are provided. Degree of protection IP55, IP56 or IP65 on request, cooling IC411, IC416 or IC410.
Which existing motors can Transnorm replace?
High-voltage motors replace low- and medium-power 6 kV motors, low-voltage ones replace large 0.4/0.69 kV motors. In the high-voltage version the winding is monitored by PT100 thermometers, in the low-voltage one by PTC thermistors.
