MEBKGR is a series of three-phase squirrel-cage induction motors with a ribbed, surface-cooled housing. The high-voltage part of the series covers voltages from 2 to 13.8 kV and power up to 2600 kW in frame sizes 280–560. The motors drive pumps, compressors, fans, mills and refiners at industrial plants and power stations.

Description
The series is produced by the factory in Hennigsdorf near Berlin in low-, medium- and high-voltage versions. Standard voltages at 50 Hz are 3000, 3300, 5000, 5500, 6000, 6300, 6600, 10 000, 10 500 and 11 000 V, and at 60 Hz 2300, 4160, 6000, 6600, 11 000, 13 200 and 13 800 V. Typical power is given for S1 duty at rated voltage and frequency, an ambient temperature of 40 °C and an installation altitude of up to 1000 m, and under other conditions it is derated.
The housing is made of rigid grey cast iron, with welded steel as an option (MEBKSR series). The ribs are arranged so that connections do not block the flow of cooling air. Cooling is IC411 with a shaft-mounted fan or IC416 with an independent fan for operation from a frequency converter, and two-pole machines have a fan that depends on the direction of rotation. The class F winding is impregnated by VPI technology and used to class B, which gives a thermal margin and ageing resistance. Class H insulation is applied on request. The winding withstands re-switching onto a residual field of 100 % after loss of voltage, and the motor permits an overload of 1.5 times the rated current for two minutes.
Rolling bearings with a lubrication and used-grease removal device are fitted as standard, and on request reinforced bearings for belt drives or sleeve bearings. The vibration level is A (B on request) to EN 60034-14. Pt100 resistance thermometers are fitted in the winding and bearings, SPM nipples are provided for vibration monitoring, and the 230 V standstill heater has a separate terminal box. The main terminal box rotates by 4 × 90°. Mounting arrangements are IM B3, B35, V1 and V15, the degree of protection is IP55, optionally IP56 and IP67. The motors operate at ambient temperatures from −20 to +40 °C, to order from −55 to +70 °C, and at altitudes up to 4000 m.
The motors comply with IEC/EN 60034, VDE, DIN and ISO. They are used for pumps, compressors, fans, refiners, mills, agitators and shredders in the cement, chemical, oil and gas, pulp and paper and metallurgical industries, at power stations and in water supply. The factory's quality management system is certified by TÜV SÜD Management Service, certificate 12 100 40566 TMS valid until 2029-04-13.

What standard voltages does the MEBKGR series have?
