Description
The company's electric motor business dates back to 1959, when the first 7 kW induction motor and the first 480 kW synchronous motor were produced. Today the range comprises about 180 series and 1890 frame sizes with ratings from 0.18 to 120 000 kW and rotational speeds from 5 to 10 000 rpm.
Large synchronous motors are produced with ratings from 0.3 to 120 MW for driving high-power machinery at constant and variable speed. The range includes salient-pole and non-salient-pole machines, variable-frequency motors for main drives of rolling mills, explosion-proof high-speed brushless-excited motors for compressors of main gas pipelines, and vertical low-speed motors for pumping stations. Compressor motors run at high speed, while pumping stations use vertical low-speed machines. The frame size is selected for the rating and rotational speed of the specific machine.
Among record-setting products, the 120 MW salient-pole synchronous motor is, according to the manufacturer, the largest in the world by rating, and the non-salient-pole one is rated 40 MW. China's first explosion-proof brushless-excited synchronous motor, 24 MW at 6000 rpm, for pipeline compressors passed qualification tests in 2019 and remains the largest in the country by rating. A 20 MW motor at 4800 rpm of the 10 kV class for pipeline compressors has also passed tests. A 20 MW motor-generator with direct coupling has been created for high-speed applications.
For metallurgy, variable-frequency motors have been supplied for the finishing train of the 2250 mm hot strip mill (Baosteel Zhanjiang), the largest in China by unit rating, motors for the 2050 mm mill (Xichang) and motors for the 4.3 m plate mill with one of the highest torques in the country. For water management a 3000 kW vertical synchronous motor with 24 poles was built for the Lianhu pumping station of the Dongjiang–Shenzhen water supply system.
The motors are used in power generation, ferrous metallurgy, water management, the oil and chemical industries, mining, the cement industry and on main pipelines. Electric drives complete with frequency converters are also supplied, and service is provided. Manufacturing takes place in Deyang (Sichuan, China).
