Description
This is the main part of the motor programme of the plant in Zagreb. The company makes low-voltage and high-voltage induction motors, and this item covers the versions above 1 kV; low-voltage machines are listed separately. According to the 2025 product catalogue the range is as follows: rated power from 160 kW to 10 MW, voltage up to 13.8 kV, squirrel-cage or wound rotor.
Besides general industrial drives, the programme includes special-purpose motors, among them motors for lifts, cranes, bucket-wheel excavators, top drives (TOP drive) of drilling rigs on oil platforms, slurry pumps and mills. Marine machines work on winches, bow thrusters and in main propulsion. Rotary transformers are made separately.
Explosion-proof motors are built with a flameproof enclosure and in the increased safety version. According to the catalogue these are ATEX motors with protection types 'd', 'e', 'p', 'n' for the chemical, oil and gas and mining industries, for driving pumps, compressors and fans. Each motor is certified by an independent test laboratory and an ATEX certification body.
Shaftless compressor motors have no shaft of their own and are built into the hub of a reciprocating compressor. The open version is air-cooled, and the closed one has a water jacket. According to the website the power is 175 to 550 kW at voltages from 389 to 690 V and 3300 V, and according to the 2025 catalogue 160 to 550 kW at voltages up to 6 kV. Since 1999 more than 1300 such motors have been built, low-voltage and high-voltage together.
At its own plant the company performs coil forming and winding, vacuum pressure impregnation (VPI) of windings, machining, balancing, assembly and testing. The manufacturer makes welded and machined parts itself, including steel components for nuclear power plants. The service department maintains motors of its own and of other makes. At the Krško nuclear power plant it services 14 high-voltage motors every 18 months. The work includes stator rewinding, rotor insulation repair, new stators and rotors, balancing and no-load tests to IEC. Application areas are oil and gas and chemicals, mining, metallurgy, building materials, pumping and compressor stations, shipbuilding and nuclear power.
