Description
The company positions itself as the first manufacturer of explosion-proof electrical machines in Europe. Motors for hazardous areas meet the requirements of the oil and gas companies Shell, Saudi Aramco and ExxonMobil and the international standard IEC 60079. They have ATEX certification, IECEx marking and North American marking. Vertical mounting is available.
Versions are produced with the explosion protection types Ex d (flameproof enclosure), Ex p (pressurisation), Ex ec (non-sparking), Ex eb (increased safety) and Ex t (dust protection). Gas groups are IIA, IIB, IIC, and the dust group is IIIC.
The ET series are totally enclosed, self-ventilated machines in an Ex d flameproof enclosure with a built-in air-to-air heat exchanger, cooling IC511. The heat exchanger consists of a bundle of corrosion-resistant steel tubes around the stator core. A shaft-mounted fan drives external air through the tubes, and two internal fans circulate the internal air through the active parts and the tube bundle. The tubes are assembled and sealed in accordance with the standards for flameproof enclosures, so the hazardous atmosphere does not get inside. The rating is 160–4500 kW (up to 5000 kW in the brochure), the voltage is up to 15 kV, 2–20 poles, frame size 400–1000 mm, and weight 1.8–30 t. Operating temperatures are from −50 °C (from −60 °C without heaters per the brochure) to +55…+60 °C.
The CAD series are enclosed machines with air blown over the housing surface, IC411, IP55. External fins and internal fans with a calculated airflow cool the motor, and a special electromagnetic design makes the series suitable for operation from frequency converters. The rating is 150–700 kW, the voltage is up to 7.2 kV, 2–8 poles, frame size 355–450 mm, weight 1.8–4 t, and the temperature range is from −20 to +50 °C.
Both series are made to the requirements of the IEC 60079 standard. The motors operate on pumps and compressors in oil and gas production, pipelines, refineries and petrochemicals, on offshore platforms and in chemical plants. The type of explosion protection, gas group and temperature class are selected from the data on the hazardous area of the specific facility.
