1.KO(F), high-voltage protected induction motor IP23, IC 01, 3–13.8 kV, 200–9000 kW
The 1.KO(F) series of high-voltage squirrel-cage induction motors in protected design IP23 has a power of 200–9000 kW and a voltage of 3–13.8 kV. This is the simplest and most widely used design in the plant's high-voltage range, with open self-ventilation IC 01. The motors are installed in enclosed machine halls and pumping stations.

Description
The motor is cooled according to scheme IC 01. The rotor fan takes in outside air, drives it through the active part and discharges it outside without an intermediate heat exchanger. Degree of protection IP23 guards against drops and splashes falling at an angle of up to 60° from the vertical, and against foreign objects larger than 12 mm.
The rated voltage from 3 to 13.8 kV covers the 6 and 10 kV common in Ukraine, and the frequency is 50 or 60 Hz. The frame range has a shaft height of 355–800, and the number of poles from 2 to 12 corresponds to synchronous speeds from 3000 to 500 rpm at 50 Hz. The stator winding insulation is class F. The motors are mounted horizontally on feet (IM B3) or vertically (IM V1), and the vertical design is used for vertical pumps. The general technical requirements correspond to IEC 60034-1, and the connection dimensions to IEC 60072.
Open cooling gives the lowest weight and cost per unit of power, but requires clean and dry air. Typical drives include circulating, feed and mains pumps of power plants, water supply and land reclamation pumps, boiler fans and induced-draft fans, compressors, and mills and crushers in the cement and mining industries. The plant supplies high-voltage motors for nuclear and thermal power plants, mines, metallurgical enterprises and oil refineries.
When replacing motors of older protected-design series, check the rated voltage (6 or 10 kV), speed, shaft height, shaft design and starting method, as well as the bearing type and the winding terminal layout. The final frame size is selected according to the technical specification for the particular machine.
