egeXXL is a system of large-diameter polyethylene gas pipes, outside diameter 710–1600 mm, SDR 11 and 17, material PE 100 or PE 100-RC. The pipes are supplied in 6 or 12 m straight lengths, comply with DIN 8074/8075 and EN 1555 and carry the H2ready mark. They are used for distribution and industrial gas pipelines and for rehabilitation of steel networks.

Description
egeXXL is a system of large-diameter polyethylene pressure pipes, up to 1600 mm, for new construction and rehabilitation. Strong welded joints and a full range of fittings make it possible to build durable transmission pipelines with a uniform material along the entire length. Polyethylene pipes have been used for decades to build and renew natural gas distribution networks, and for the gas industry egeXXL is offered in a separate gas version. The manufacturer states outside diameters of its products from 3 to 1600 mm, and egeXXL covers the upper part of this range.
The pipes are solid-wall, black or black with coloured stripes to mark the medium. The material is PE 100 or PE 100-RC. The outside diameter is from 710 to 1600 mm, SDR 11 and 17, others on request. The products comply with DIN 8074/8075 and EN 1555. Supply is in straight lengths of 6 or 12 m, other lengths on request. The pipe is used both in new construction and in rehabilitation, and the welded joints give a uniform material along the whole length of the pipeline.
Large-diameter polyethylene is fully resistant to corrosion and chemical attack, which is especially valuable in aggressive soils where steel pipes need active electrochemical protection. The smooth inner surface gives low pressure losses. Uniform welded joints keep their tightness and operational safety for decades. A full range of fittings makes it possible to assemble a pipeline system of a single material: egeFit includes seamless and segmented bends, segmented tees, 45° branches, stub ends for loose flanges, reducers, end caps and wall penetrations. Special parts are made to customer drawings, including prefabricated assemblies for the appropriate pressure class.
All of the manufacturer's gas pipes carry the H2ready guarantee mark. In addition to the DVGW certificate for gas pipelines, the DBI institute has confirmed successful tests with 100% hydrogen. The PE 100-RC material is resistant to natural gas and gas condensate under EN 1555, as well as to hydrogen. Applications are large-diameter, high-throughput distribution gas pipelines, gas pipelines on industrial sites, rehabilitation of large steel gas pipelines by pulling in a new pipe, and gas pipelines in corrosive soils.
