GEAFOL and CARECO cast-resin dry transformers rated up to 50 MVA at Um up to 52 kV. They are installed in industry, on ships and offshore platforms, in mining and at rolling mills. Produced since 1966 at the plant in Kirchheim.

Description
The HV winding is made of aluminium foil and cast under vacuum, the LV winding is wound from aluminium strip, and CARECO has copper windings. The epoxy resin insulation with quartz flour shows no partial discharges up to 2× rated voltage. Classes under IEC 60076-11 are E3, C3, F1. With fans the transformer carries an overload of +50 %, and GEAFOL withstands peak loads up to 5× rated. Distribution and converter versions are available (GEAFOL converter). Compliant with IEC 60076-11, VDE 0532-76-11 and EU Ecodesign.
