ZLF / ZLV distance protection terminal for HV lines
ZLF and ZLV provide distance protection for overhead and cable lines of any voltage class, including parallel lines and lines with series capacitor compensation. ZLF has 8 zones with Mho and quadrilateral characteristics, ZLV has up to 6 reverse zones, and the operating time is less than one cycle.

Description
The terminals trip faults on a single-phase or three-phase basis and control one or two circuit breakers of the bay. To speed up tripping, teleprotection schemes DTT, PUTT, POTT, DCUB and DCB are available, working together with communication channel equipment. Separate functions monitor power swings, VT circuit failures and operation on lines with series compensation. Communication with the substation control system uses IEC 61850 Ed.2. The terminals suit lines of any configuration, overhead and cable.
