Description
Interface protection relays disconnect self-generation sites from the distribution grid during faults and abnormal conditions. They prevent active consumers from feeding energy into the grid at unacceptable voltage and frequency values after loss of main supply. In addition, the relays prevent back-feeding of a fault in the distribution grid and out-of-phase connection of generators on automatic or manual reclosing of the grid.
The XMR-V terminal of the XMORE platform complies with the Italian standard CEI 0-16 and is intended for protection against loss of supply from the distribution grid side (Loss of Main). It monitors synchronism, voltage, frequency and its rate of change, has breaker failure protection, transfer tripping and supports several regulation profiles. Waveform recording runs at 32 samples per cycle. Protocols are IEC 61850 Ed.1/Ed.2, IEC 60870-5-103, Modbus, DNP3, HSR/PRP redundancy, and PTP (IEC 1588) and SNTP synchronisation. The IEC 61850 Ed.2 server has a DNV certificate.
The NV10P relay works per CEI 0-16 in HV, MV and LV grids, for transformers and electrical machines. Protections are overvoltage and undervoltage, zero-sequence and negative-sequence overvoltage, minimum and maximum frequency and rate of change of frequency, breaker failure protection and trip circuit supervision. A USB-B port is provided for setting. Instead of traditional voltage transformers and insulators with a capacitive divider, a V-Sensor can be used, which combines an electronic voltage transformer, a capacitive divider for voltage indicators and a support insulator, for 10–24 kV grids. The M-GSM4 modem (4G/LTE) performs remote tripping of interface circuit breakers through the NV10P per the requirements of Annex M of CEI 0-16 for PV and wind plants from 100 kW.
The XV10P is a new-generation relay for MV and LV. It has a graphic LCD with a mimic diagram, 6 digital inputs, recording of events, faults and waveforms, modular hardware and a USB port. Ethernet works with Modbus TCP or IEC 61850, including remote tripping on a DSO command and logic selectivity. Programmable logic per IEC 61131, an optional web server, a data recorder, a Modbus master function for four devices over RS485, and compatibility with V-Sensor. Functions are 27, 59Uavg, 59, 47, 25, 81R and vector shift.
The NV10B is a general protection relay for grids and machines with breaker failure protection, overvoltage and zero-sequence voltage protection, undervoltage, trip circuit supervision and thermal protection by Pt100. For LV grids the NV021 is made per the CEI 0-21 standard. The relays are installed at the connection points of solar, wind, cogeneration and biogas plants to MV and LV grids.
