SYNDIS — SCADA/NMS/DMS/OMS system for power grids and industry
SYNDIS is the company's own integrated NMS-class system for dispatch control of electrical networks, running under Windows, Unix and Linux. Its modular design covers SCADA, DMS, OMS, FDIR, power quality assessment and transformer monitoring. It is used by distribution companies, at substations, wind farms, mines, water utilities and heating networks.

Description
The company supplies SYNDIS as a supervision, advisory and control system. It handles operational control of electrical networks of all types, energy metering and distribution with contract portfolio management and market participation, and coordinates the distribution and protection relay services. In industrial automation the system plans and monitors technological processes, in control centres it handles operational resource planning, and for finance departments it prepares cost budgeting and demand forecasts. The interface is multilingual, and the system is designed for many users with access to individual modules restricted by role.
The set of modules is selected for the task. ADMS SYNDIS is responsible for facility automation, SYNDIS FDIR detects faults and restores network operation, and SYNDIS OMS works alongside it. SYNDIS PQ assesses power quality, SYNDIS OMT provides regional monitoring of power transformers, and SYNDIS ES/ESB supervises generator step-up transformers. The line also includes SYNDIS ENERGIA, the SYNDIS SAS SO-5 substation automation, the MOS, WNZ, KONOS and IB modules, the infoMIK mass notification system and AQUA for dewatering control.
SYNDIS ENERGIA works on its own or as part of the main system and forms with it an NMS/DMS tool for monitoring, balancing and reporting on the production or consumption of energy carriers. The module reads electricity, heat, gas and water meters in real time, either directly through digital interfaces or in buffered mode through concentrators and energy data loggers. Transmission channels include RS-485, current loop, optical fibre, radio, GSM/GPRS, WAN/LAN networks and telephone lines. Data is archived automatically, the module exchanges information with energy market software, SCADA and financial accounting systems, and it is also used for energy audits and for supervising energy management systems under ISO 50001.
SYNDIS OMT provides online monitoring of a large number of power transformers in a distribution network with renewable generation and passes data on current load and possible temporary overload to SCADA. The dispatcher gets a basis for managing load and energy flows in networks with a high share of RES.
The hardware basis consists of SO-5S real-time servers and SO-5S-SHMI operator stations. The system scales from small facilities to large projects, and built-in self-test procedures monitor its operability. Typical deployment sites are control centres of distribution companies, substations, wind farms, water supply and sewer networks, heating networks, a nationwide system for supervising radio navigation and radar facilities, and facility security.
