SW3 Ethernet switches for substations (IEC 61850-3)
SW3 are industrial switches for building the station bus network of substations and secondary substation automation. Versions include a 19-inch L2/L3 switch with PTP for substations and a compact DIN-rail one for secondary substations with 2 SFP and up to 8 FE ports, and the switches comply with IEC 61850-3 and IEEE 1613.

Description
The switches join protection terminals, bay controllers and SCADA servers into one Ethernet network. Gigabit SFP ports give flexibility in choosing optical modules for data transmission from distribution substations. VLAN and QoS for traffic separation, STP/RSTP for ring topologies and L3 routing are supported. PTP time synchronisation in the rack version is needed for digital substation devices. Compliance with IEC 61850-3 and IEEE 1613 concerns operation under the electromagnetic interference and temperatures of a substation.
