Description
The system is built for the tasks that the energy transition places on network operators. The share of renewable generation keeps growing, and it has priority when feeding into the network. Added to this are weather uncertainty, generation connected directly to the distribution network, volatile generation and load, the geographic imbalance of sources and legal requirements. SPRECON-V460 is consistent across all levels of application. The same product runs on a local panel in the bay, in station control, on the local switchboard of a power plant and in distributed multi-level control systems with hot standby redundancy.
The runtime environment supports several operating concepts: control windows, context and main menus, smart icons, drag & drop, zooming, panning and image declutter, multi-window and multi-monitor operation, and full touch control. The basic functions of the operator station are familiar to a dispatcher. These are process mimic diagrams, control commands, trends of measured values, acknowledgeable alarm lists and an operating log. On top of them sit higher-level network control functions, including consumption forecast and optimization, topological coloring and interlocking, earth fault and short-circuit location, process simulation and reporting for settlement protocols.
The standard communication protocols are IEC 60870-5-104 and IEC 61850, and the system also works with a number of third-party protocols. The built-in web server delivers all process data to the Internet or an intranet. All functions of SPRECON-V460 can be used with ring redundancy in a network of any configuration at no additional cost.
Engineering follows the principle of configuring rather than programming. All visualization projects, even for different applications, are created and maintained in one editor, SPRECON-V460 Editor. Graphics, navigation and logic are parameterized with the mouse through properties and ready-made functions, so no programming knowledge is required. VSTA/VBA wizards automate engineering, and functions are extended with the same wizards and with built-in automation functions according to IEC 61131-3. Project data is stored centrally in an SQL database and is loaded into the runtime environment directly from the editor by the built-in remote transport.
To replace obsolete systems, the manufacturer offers tools for migrating existing data. Typical sites are control centers of distribution networks and utilities, substations, power plants, and combined control systems for power, water and gas supply.
