SPRECON-E-C — modular telecontrol devices (RTU) and station controllers
SPRECON-E-C are modular telecontrol devices (RTU) and station controllers from the manufacturer based on the SPRECON-E platform. They are used to build new telecontrol networks of any structure or to integrate devices into existing networks without changing the operating and maintenance philosophy adopted by the user. Fields of application cover electricity, gas, water and heat supply and tunnels.

Description
The SPRECON-E platform is modular and flexibly configurable, so SPRECON-E-C devices work both in station automation and in telecontrol. Modules are connected to the process directly or indirectly. Three standard enclosure sizes (Cx2, Cx4, Cx6) can be configured for practically any I/O volume, so one device type covers sites of different size and design.
SPRECON-E-Cx6 is designed for large data volumes. Depending on the configuration it has approximately up to 500 inputs and 240 outputs and up to 18 serial interfaces for IEC 60870-5-101/-104 and/or proprietary protocols, for example SAT 1703. SPRECON-E-Cx4 covers medium volumes, and Cx2 is installed at small stations. For the smallest sites in the same system, compact SPRECON-E-T3 modules are used. Communication with higher-level systems runs over the standard protocols IEC 61850, IEC 60870-5-101, -103 and -104, and the station bus is IEC 61850 or IEC 60870-5-104. A large number of proprietary protocols and Modbus are also available.
The devices are used to build large multi-level telecontrol networks with remote diagnostics and parameterization, and in existing networks they are integrated as a central station and/or a controlled station. Connection is possible over dial-up VPN, GSM and PSTN channels, and media converters such as an optical interface are built in. Service telegrams are tunneled for maintenance of controlled stations. A built-in switch, IP encryption, firewall and routing cover the network part without additional modules.
Automation functions are freely parameterized with a function plan according to IEC 61131-3. Operation is carried out from the remote SPRECON-E-CP panel with a color display, and SPRECON-V460 serves as the higher-level control system. According to the manufacturer's statistics, the mean time between failures (MTBF) of multifunction devices for automation, control and telecontrol is 250 years. If a device still has to be replaced, the SD card with the backup is moved to the new device and the configuration and firmware are loaded from it without any additional tool.
The manufacturer supports the project from the idea, planning and engineering with documentation through manufacturing, factory acceptance tests (FAT), installation, commissioning and after-sales service. Applications are high- and medium-voltage substations, power plant control systems, smart grids, water supply and wastewater, gas and oil supply, heating and cooling supply, and transport (tunnels).
