SPRECON-E-C FLG are bay controllers for switchgear and power plants of all voltage classes and designs. They control switching devices, collect measurements and meter readings, and perform interlocking and switching sequence logic. The hardware basis is SPRECON-E-C devices with IEC 61850 and IEC 60870-5-101/103/104 protocols.

Description
A controller is installed on each bay of a switchgear. It controls circuit breakers and disconnectors and monitors their state, collects measured values and meter readings, and implements interlocking and logic functions for switching sequences. Three versions are produced: a control-only device, a combined device with protection and control functions, and a protection-only device. One hardware platform therefore covers both control and protection of the bay.
PLC programs run together with the SPRECON-E CP-2131 color display, for example for automatic switching, sequential control, interlocking and voltage regulation (AVR). The logic is programmed with function block diagrams according to IEC 61131-3. The controller has an interface to the central station controller and communication with third-party devices, keeps event and alarm lists, and makes a backup copy to an SD card. The web server accepts firmware and parameter updates, remote maintenance and service are supported, and IT security is comprehensive.
The hardware basis is the multifunctional SPRECON-E-C devices for automation, remote control and control systems. The housings come in three standard sizes. Cx2/24TE is designed for 3 free slots and measures 131×176×170 mm, Cx4/40TE for 7 slots and 212×176×170 mm, Cx6/84TE for 18 slots and 436×176×170 mm. The I/O volume is configured for the bay. This is up to 20 wide-range binary inputs 24–220 V DC and 110–230 V AC 50/60 Hz, up to 8 analog inputs or 4 outputs 0…±20 mA, up to 8 PT100 inputs for 2- or 4-wire connection, and up to 32 signal outputs 24–48 V DC, short-circuit proof. The power supply is 24–60 V DC or 110–250 V DC and 110–230 V AC 50/60 Hz.
The standard protocols are IEC 61850, IEC 60870-5-101, -103 and -104, supplemented by a large number of proprietary protocols, including Modbus, Courier, DNP3.0 and Profibus DP Master. The network is connected through 2/3 Ethernet ports 10/100 Mbit/s (RJ45) or through a built-in switch for an optical ring with 2 BFOC optical ports and 1/3 electrical RJ45 ports. Up to 18 independent interfaces work at the same time. Central process visualization is built on SPRECON-V460.
For local control there are SPRECON-E CP panels with a color display and the CP-2500 station display, from which the substation can be safely operated without a PC. The front panel has 25 freely parameterizable LEDs. The devices comply with EN 55022, IEC 60255 and IEC 60255-22, and an extended temperature range from −25 to +70 °C is supplied on request. Applications are switchgear bays and outdoor switchgear of 10–380 kV substations, switchgear of power plants and industrial enterprises, and digital substations.
